Mark is an industry insider with over 20 years leadership experience in high growth natural and organic brands, including Hain-Celestial, Kashi and Annie’s, as well as having served as co-founder and CEO of a start-up contract manufacturer. He has often taken long-term interim C-Level assignments as coach to founders to facilitate growth of high-potential brands. His main strength is supply chain management with the ultimate goal of reducing COGS and improving security of supply.
Today, Mark keeps a pulse on emerging brands and industry trends as Senior Partner of The Helmsman Group. He has lead and continues efforts to launch innovative incubator food brands in several new categories, including bakery, snacks, cold-press beverages, gluten-free and free-form products.
As a true farm-to-fork visionary, Mark maintains multiple investments in organic agriculture including a cereal farm in Saskatchewan, an emerging organic fertilizer brand, and providing grain marketing services for organic crops from Canada, USA and Argentina. Mark also serves on the board for the Education Research Institute, a non-profit affiliate of the North West Food Processors Association.
