Takeaways from Expo West 2015

Wow! What a show!


2015 must have been yet another record in terms of attendance and we are looking forward to the official stats from New Hope.


We wanted to share a few observations from our time at the show:

  • Gluten Free was even more prevalent this year than it has been in years past with brands continuing their innovation and pushing the envelope further, delivering even better food than in previous years.

  • Free From continues to grow, with the vast majority of products focused on school-age consumers.

  • Brands continue to find creative and innovative ways to deliver on Triple Bottom Line and to differentiate themselves based on truly creative Mission Models.

  • Emerging: Grain-based beverages, overnight cereals akin to Bircher Muesli and products utilizing pea proteins.

  • Trending: Plant-based products were heavily represented at the show and we predict them to continue to grow substantially in the years to come.

  • We love that New Hope has expanded on the table top spaces to provide even more and better access to emerging brands.

All in all it was a fantastic show. We are already looking forward to next year!
